We have over 500 individuals/families who have come along at some point since we started in January 2023, and we see between 40-50 households each week.
Currently, the pantry is self-funded (through the £2 donations of the customers, and £40 per month from church funds). We rely hugely on charitable donations, and collections of surplus stock from supermarkets.
There are three ways you can help:
Pray, Participate, Donate
Pray - for God's provision, that those who come along would be blessed, that the volunteers would find purpose and joy in this act of service.
Participate - volunteer on the Sunday rota - serving food, and teas and coffees, if you drive - offer to collect food from the supermarkets once or twice a month, stay and chat with those who are waiting for the pantry if they don't go into Seeds of Hope.
Donate - Food, especially: fresh fruit / veg, tinned meat products, cereals, rice, and pasta. Clothes - that are clean and in a good condition.
Money, please do this through the Parish Giving Scheme at the bottom of the page - the Church provides all that is necessary for the Pantry to take place (the building, heat, light, volunteer supervision, insurances, training, etc... It is important that financial giving is part of our general fund and then budgeted so that we can continue to bless our community & especially those in need).
